Enlisted Liverpool. Husband of H. Richards of Aintree, Liverpool. Prior to enlisting was employed by Mr W. H. Carefull, Clothier of Beam Street, Nantwich. Went to France on November 28, 1915. A comrade writing home stated that the enemy broke through the lines and Sergeant Richards was killed whilst he slept, after his shelter received a direct hit. Formerly 1/7th (Terr.) Bn. Cheshire Regiment.
